Dr. Amanda Lightsey

A long time native of College Station, Dr. Lightsey is a graduate of A&M Consolidated High School. With her love of the Brazos Valley, she wanted to remain in the area to raise her own family and give back to the community. After proudly graduating from Texas A&M University (Class of ’98), she married her long time sweetheart Mark, who was born and raised in Bryan. Dr. Lightsey went on to achieve her Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy at Southwest Texas State University in 2002.

Dr. Lightsey immediately returned to the Brazos Valley and dove into patient care, falling in love with the practice of Physical Therapy. After a few years working as a PT, she developed a passion for a greater depth of practice for her patients. While simultaneously working full time and caring for her family, Dr. Lightsey graduated from MGH Institute of Health Professions in 2007. She quickly established a strong patient and physician following. “The opportunity to respectfully work side by side with a patient – to help them improve their ability to fulfill the many roles of their life, achieve their dreams, become whole again – is a true gift that I cherish, take seriously, and thank God for daily.”

One year later, Mark and Amanda were blessed with their first daughter, Camryn; and a short two

years later with another blessing – the birth of their second daughter, Kendall. Dr. Lightsey was

promoted to Director of Rehab Services with a local healthcare organization and during this tenure,

quickly realized her administrative duties overshadowed her love of working directly with patients. She set out on a mission to find a place where she could provide unparalleled private, one on one, and personalized care…. Hence, the birth of Lightsey Physical Therapy!
